Here is the first of many more free craft tutorials from me and my 2 daughters. It's a simple craft but one that can be done in so many ways with so many different materials and to fit any special occasion. Right now we are making several of these tea lite candle holders from baby food jars to give to our family members for fall decorating.
Here are the materials we used for this craft:>D
- Baby food jar
- Ribbon
- Mod Podge
- Paint brush
- Homespun
After I get the ribbon set up I put one coat of Mod Podge on the baby food jar.
I carefully line up the ribbon and wrap it around the baby food jar. The ribbon should be cut so there is just enough to overlap at the ends.
After matching the ends I coat underneath the overlap.
I brush a layer of Mod Podge over the ribbon.
I make sure to make the bottoms stick and after it dries I'll trim the frayed ends with an exacto knife.
Next I put some extra Mod Podge on the top and press the ribbon to the rim.
I coat it at least 2 times and let it dry each time overnight. When it's dried I take homespun in a contrasting print and tie it around the jar rim. Last place a tea lite candle inside and light her up!
It's nice to make sets of 3. You can also put these on top of fall leaves, so pretty!
